Marvin D LoflinPresident and Chief Academic Officer
Prior to founding LearningU, Dr. Loflin served as Chief Academic Officer of Career Step, an online school focusing on Medical Transcription education. Dr. Loflin served as academic dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences on the Denver Campus of the University of Colorado. He has also held academic administrative and faculty positions at the University of Alaska - Anchorage, the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, and the University of Missouri - Columbia. Among other activities, while at Colorado he directed the development of an online academic program which today includes hundreds of online courses across a great diversity of disciplines. His education includes BA, MA, Brigham Young University, 1960, 1962; Ph.D., Indiana University, 1965.
Kevin O'NeillVice President of Academics
Dr. O'Neill received his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and M.A. and Ph.D. in French literature from the University of California, Berkeley. After being granted tenure at the University of Colorado at Denver, Dr. O'Neill was named associate dean in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He was instrumental in the development of a highly successful extension program as well as international extension programs in Moscow, Beijing, Kathmandu, Ulaan Baatar, and Taipei. After leaving the University in 2000, Dr. O'Neill founded Experiential Learning International, a non-profit organization that arranges international, volunteer, intern and study experiences. He continues as the Executive Director of this organization.
Cameron LoflinVice President of Marketing and Sales
Mr. Loflin received his B.A. in History from Colorado State University, and his M.A. in Management from Webster University. Cameron has an extensive background in managing and developing relationships with academic institutions and international partners, working in the online education environment. He has worked closely with credit and non-credit programs. He is directly involved in business development and sales that will help enhance educational opportunities for students.
Ronda Walker WeaverAssistant to the President
Ms. Walker Weaver received her B.A. in English from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, and M.A. in American Studies from Utah State University, Logan, Utah. Weaver teaches Folklore and Research Writing at Utah Valley University. In addition, she has worked with numerous non-profit organizations – academic and community-driven. Weaver founded Timpanogos Singer Songwriter Alliance, was the founding chairperson for the Orem City Arts Council, and has consulted for numerous start-up companies.
Colt AltonDirector of Technology
Mr. Alton is a seasoned education technologist. His career includes over 16 years of experience in creating, building, and growing innovative education / technology projects and programs. Mr. Alton specializes in early stage product development, works with organizations to scope, clarify and manage the product vision, and typically consults with organizations through product delivery and market execution.
